MANILA — There is no movement in the prices of Pinoy Tasty and Pinoy Pandesal until December this year, Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Secretary Ramon Lopez said.

In a text message, Lopez said the price of Pinoy Tasty remains at PHP35 per loaf, while Pinoy Pandesal at PHP21.50 per 10-piece pack.

The prices of these bread products manufactured by the Philippine Baking Group (Philbaking) are stable since April 2016, Lopez said.

“To help the government, they won’t increase [prices] until December,” he said.

Pinoy Tasty and Pinoy Pandesal are cheaper compared to other brands since these are subsidized by bakers and flour millers. This is also a partnership between the DTI and Philbaking. Pinoy Tasty was launched in 2010.

Philbaking is composed of Gardenia Philippines, Creative Bakers, Uncle George, Marby, MLM Fortune Bakeshop, FrenchBakers, Sunmaru, Julies, and community bakeries under the Filipino-Chinese Bakery Association Inc. and the Philippine Federation of Bakeries Association Inc.

Lopez also said that flour millers would not increase the price of Harinang Pinoy, which is used in the production of Pinoy Tasty and Pinoy Pandesal.
