Police search for intruders who injured rural property owner in central Alberta
OLDS, Alta. — Police in central Alberta are searching for at least three suspects after a rural property owner was injured in a late-night confrontation on the weekend.
RCMP in Olds say the 36-year-old man had gone to check on some noises in his garage and suffered cuts to his face and arm when he was attacked by someone with a sharp weapon.
They say the owner put the suspect into a hold to defend himself, but was kicked from behind by a second man.
Both suspects ran down the driveway with the property owner chasing after them.
Once the duo reached the road, a small car parked nearby struck the victim and then took off with the assailants.
Mounties say the property owner has been released from hospital.
