Prince Edward Island issues new invitations to Express Entry candidates
The Atlantic province of Prince Edward Island issued 78 invitations to apply for a provincial nomination in a draw that took place May 17. Of that total, 22 invitations went to Express Entry candidates through PEI’s Express Entry Stream.
The province’s Office of Immigration said the Express Entry candidates invited are currently working in the province. No EOI score range was provided for the Express Entry invitations.
Express Entry candidates who wish to be considered under PEI’s Express Entry Stream must create a profile through the province’s Expression of Interest (EOI) system, which was introduced in February. Profiles are reviewed and assigned points based on six selection factors: age, language, education, work experience, employment, and adaptability up to a maximum of 100 points.
Express Entry candidates who are nominated by PEI receive an additional 600 Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) points.
Candidates invited through the PEI Express Entry Stream have 90 days from the invitation date to submit a complete application to the province’s Office of Immigration.
Labour Impact invitations also issued
The May 17 draw also issued invitations to 56 candidates in PEI’s Labour Impact Category.
No EOI score range was provided for these candidates.
PEI’s Labour Impact Category is for individuals who possess skills and experience that are needed in PEI’s labour market. The category is divided into three streams: Skilled Workers, Critical Workers and International Graduates.
PEI’s Office of Immigration did not provide a breakdown of how many candidates were invited through each stream in the Labour Impact Category.
