Scattered rainshowers in some parts of PH Wednesday: PAGASA

MANILA — Some areas of the country will experience scattered rain showers and thunderstorms due to the tail-end of a cold front affecting the eastern section of southern Luzon and the easterlies over the eastern section of Visayas and Mindanao on Wednesday, said the state weather bureau.

The provinces of Catanduanes, Camarines Norte and Camarines Sur will have cloudy skies and scattered rain showers and thunderstorms caused by the tail-end of the cold front, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said in its 24-hour forecast.

The province of Samar and the regions of Caraga and Davao will have cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms due to the easterlies.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country will be partly cloudy with isolated rain showers caused by localized thunderstorms.

PAGASA on Tuesday declared the onset of the dry season due to the “termination of the northeast monsoon”, which has been replaced by warmer winds coming from the Pacific.

The northeast monsoon or “hanging amihan” are cold winds that blow from Siberia, Russia that starts in mid-October and strengthens in mid-December.
