TORONTOFeb. 21, 2018 /CNW/ – Today, Payment SourceCanada’s premier alternative payment provider, announced an expansion of its relationship with the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) that enables Canadians to make tax payments from any of the country’s 6,000+ Canada Post locations. Beginning this year, CRA remittance forms for T1 taxes will contain an embedded QR code, powered by Payment Source’s Loadhub technology. When scanned, these codes allow Canadians to make their tax payments in-person using cash or debit at any Canada Post location across the country.

“We are pleased to continue to support the CRA with their tax payments and are constantly looking for ways to improve the experience for the taxpayer,” says Robert Hyde, VP Payment Services for Payment Source. “In-person payment at Canada Post continues to be a great solution for those in more remote regions where traditional banking services are less accessible.”

The introduction of Loadhub’s technology simplifies the tax payment process for Canadians who can either utilize the QR code found on their remittance forms or visit payinperson.ca to generate their own payment code. In-person payments made at Canada Post locations through the use of these codes are immediately received by the CRA, making them an ideal option for last-minute taxpayers.

The new individual tax payment remittance forms will be available at the end of February and additional forms will be issued over the course of 2018.
