MANILA — Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCOO) Secretary Martin Andanar has expressed optimism that Special Assistant to President (SAP) Christopher “Bong” Go will be cleared in the Feb. 19 Senate inquiry into the controversial frigate acquisition project of the Philippine Navy.

“I’m sure that the results of this (Senate hearing) will show that SAP Bong is really innocent,” Andanar said in an interview with radio dwFM.

Andanar encouraged Filipinos to watch the Senate inquiry into the PHP18-billion contract to purchase two brand new frigates for the Navy.

Go has assured that he will attend the Senate inquiry even as he denied that he interfered in the military procurement contract.

Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque said Thursday that he will go to the Senate to watch the hearing.
