PCOO, CGH ink MOA on med assistance to MPC
MANILA — The Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCOO) and the Chinese General Hospital (CGH) on Monday signed a memorandum of agreement (MOA) granting medical assistance to the members of the Malacanang Press Corps.
PCOO Secretary Martin Andanar, CGH president James Dy and Philippine Chinese Charitable Association, Inc. chairman Benito Goyokpin spearheaded the MOA signing at the CGH Medical Arts Building in Manila.
Under the agreement, bonafide MPC members will get 50 percent discount on major surgeries, childbirth, confinement, laboratory and pulmonary services.
Media members covering the President won’t be required to give downpayment for confinement.
Andanar pursued the MPC medical assistance program that was facilitated by former Press Undersecretary Isabel de Leon and Rose Novenario of Hataw.
“Thank you to former Usec. Abel de Leon and our very own Rose Novenario for helping us facilitate the MOA with Chinese General leadership,” Andanar said.
Andanar, a former television broadcaster, also thanked the CGH officials for providing the much needed medical benefits to the MPC.
The MOA signing was witnessed by MPC officials headed by its president Raymund Tinaza.
