Marcos bares ‘evidence’ of VP’s alleged cheating
2016 Vice Presidential bet Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos, Jr. in his constant claim of winning the VP position, accused Leni Robredo for cheating in the elections.
The former Senator revealed several soft copies of “questionable” ballots, in a press conference on Monday.
He was asked by a reporter, “Are you accusing Comelec (Commission on Election) and Smartmatic of cheating and being in cahoots with the Robredo camp?”
To which he answered with, “Yes. The evidence will be the final count in the recount as opposed to the reported counting of Comelec and Smartmatic.”
Through the ballot images he flashed, a square mark was seen enclosing shaded marks of the voter. According to Marcos, this is “immediately a violation” as ballots “should be an authentic and true representation of the actual ballot.
Another ‘evidence’ that Marcos flashed, is of a ballot image with three circles of Vice President candidates shaded, which he claimed was a vote counted to Robredo instead of being declared as void or overvote.
Through the image of a vote summary, it was shown that that ballot counted a vote for Robredo, to which Marcos claimed that the machine should have made the vote void.
“Bakit ‘yung mga boto ko naging undervote, ‘di binilang? Pakipaliwanag po. Bakit ‘yung mga spoiled ballots, ibinilang kay Robredo? Pakipaliwanag din po. Bakit ‘yung ibang balota nakita natin pare-pareho ang ballot number at iba-iba ang resulta? (Why did the votes for me become undervote, it was not counted? Please explain. How come the spoiled ballots were counted to Robredo? Please explain. Why did the ballots we saw have the same ballot numbers yet different results? Please explain,” he said after flashing more images.
In line with these, Marcos then dared Robredo to have a recount of the VP election results in which he lost by 263, 473 votes in the count.
