Ayala’s energy unit to build solar power projects in Vietnam

MANILA — The energy unit of Ayala Corp. (AC) is teaming up with BIM Group to jointly develop over 300 megawatts of solar power projects in Vietnam.
The initial phase of the 30-MW solar project broke ground Tuesday, with investment for this phase expected to reach 800 billion Vietnamese dong (VND) and to be completed within the year.
The solar project is envisioned to be expanded by an additional 300 MWs.
“AC Energy is very keen to participate in the fast-growing Vietnam power sector, with pioneering investments in renewable energy,” said AC Energy chief executive officer Eric Francia.
