Devanadera is new ERC chief
MANILA— President Rodrigo Duterte has appointed former Solicitor General and Justice Secretary Agnes Devanadera as the new Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC) chairman.
The newly-appointed ERC chairman replaces Jose Vicente Salazar, who was dismissed after the Malacanang found him “guilty of two counts of simple misconduct and one count of grave misconduct.
”
Devanadera is former Solicitor General who took on the position of acting secretary of the Department of Justice during the administration of former President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo.
In a paper dated November 22, Executive Secretary Salvador Medialdea informed Devanadera of her appointment as chairperson of the ERC, who is poised to serve until July 2022.
