The Asia’s Songbird Regine Velasquez-Alcasid celebrated her 30th anniversary in the showbiz industry in a star-studded concert that was held in Mall of Asia Arena last October 21 to 22.

The two-night concert entitled ‘R30’ has been a much-awaited event not just for the fans but also for the outstanding singers of the country.

The veteran singer received a standing ovation as she belted out her all-time favorite songs “Narito Ako” and “You Are My Song”.

Several big stars who attended the concert could not help but applaud and salute the Kapuso diva. Celebrities such as Jed Madela, Gary Valenciano, Judy Ann Santos, and Jaya posted on social media photos and videos of the concert.

You will always be the one and only Songbird and you are one for the books. You have inspired so many people including myself and for that we are truly thankful. More than your amazing voice, tonight, the arena was overflowing with so much love… your love for your fans… and our love for you! All hail the queen!!! #R30 #RegineVelasquez @reginevalcasid

The R30 concert trended online for its world-class duet performances of the Songbird with Kapamilya and Kapuso young singers such as Julie Ann San Jose, Morisette Amon, Aicelle Santos, Jona Viray, and Angeline Quinto.

The young singers  admitted that their performance at concert was a dream come true and said that the Songbird served as their singing and life inspiration even before they entered the entertainment industry.

The Popstar Princess Sarah Geronimo, who also shared the stage with Velasquez-Alcasid, expressed her gratefulness to the Songbird.

“We are so blessed to have you in the industry, I will forever be grateful for you, especially for the aspiring young singer like me,” she said.

hanggang ngayon, naiiyak pa din ako (if you were there watching the concert live, you may have spotted me in the side endlessly wiping my tears away with every song) at hindi pa din makapaniwala na nangyari ito.. NASA CLOUD9 PA DIN AKO AND MY HEART IS BURSTING WITH JOY. quota na po ako sa pagiging fangirl hahaha but really.. getting to share the stage and sing with The one and only Songbird is truly a dream come true para sa akin! ung lumaki akong sumasali ng mga singing contest at mga kanta po niya ang mga pinanglalaban ko, tas biglang andiyan na ung original tas makaduet mo pa siya.. sa moment na ‘to, I just wanted to make her proud. “With GOD, nothing is impossible.” Wag na wag niyong hahayaang mawala sa puso niyo kung ano ang gusto niyo at kung ano ang Pangarap niyo. Yakapin niyo yan. Pahalagahan niyo yan. Dahil isang araw masasabi mo sa sarili mo “Walang Imposible.” #R3.0 #ThankyouLordforeverything💕

The singer hasn’t been in a concert stage since her Timeless US Tour in May 2016 which made this major concert a much-awaited event.

Velasquez-Alcasid became emotional during her concert as he paid tribute to her father and vocal coach Mang Gerry who helped her in reaching her dream to become a singer.

It has been reported that on the first day of the R30’s ticket selling, some seat sections were already sold out in just 24 hours.
