Rains over most of PH due to ‘Paolo’, LPA: PAGASA

MANILA— The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said Typhoon “Paolo” (international name Lan) would continue to bring rains in most parts of the country Thursday.

In its weather advisory, PAGASA said at 3 a.m. Thursday, “Paolo” was last observed at 895 kilometers east of Daet, Camarines Norte, packing winds of 120 km near the center with gustiness of up to 145 km and is moving north northeast at 15 km/h.

It is heading towards Japan.Meanwhile, the Low Pressure Area (LPA) was last spotted at 185 km west of Puerto Princesa City, Palawan.

Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon will experience cloudy to cloudy skies isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms mostly in the afternoon or evening due to localized thunderstorms with possible isolated lightning, strong winds and occasionally heavy rains and flashfloods.

Visayas, Zamboanga Peninsula, ARMM, Bicol region, and the provinces of Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon will experience scattered rains and thunderstorms due to “Paolo”.

The LPA will bring cloudy skies, scattered rains and thunderstorms over Palawan.

Possible moderate to heavy rains may cause serious flooding/landslides, with strong winds and lightning.

Wind and coastal waters will be moderate to strong, moderate to rough all over the country. (PNA)
