MANILA — Rain Or Shine banked on a huge second quarter and handed Star its first loss in the PBA Governors’ Cup with a 92-88 win at the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City on Sunday night.

The Elasto Painters outscored the Hotshots, 26-15, in the second frame to register a 41-30 halftime lead which they kept for the remainder of the game. However, the Hotshots had a late run that made the final margin close.

J’Nathan Bullock and Jericho Cruz each tallied 18 points, two blocks, and one steal for ROS, which scored its third straight win. Malcolm Hill led a losing battle with 26 markers, 20 caroms, three dimes, and one steal for Star.
