Open chess championship in Davao City, Sept. 10
DAVAO CITY— The Mindanao Chessmates, in coordination with the Knights of the Square Table @ Mindchess, is staging the 20th APM NCFP Rated Open Chess Championships on September 23 here.
“The exact venue will be announced later,” said national arbiter Ely Acas.
Registration fee is P300 for the six-round Swiss System tournament. Time control is 15 minutes plus 10 seconds.
The champion will receive P5,000 while the second P3,000, third P2,000 and fourth P1,000. The top 2090, 1990 and 1800 will each earn P500.
A digital North American chess clock will also be raffled.
Qualified to join the raffle are players, who have not won the top four places, players without default game, son or daughter of the organizer and other players excluded by the organizer for valid reason.
Unrated players will be given 1800 rating for 20 years old and below and 1850 for 21 years old and above.
