Media practitioner, driver wounded in attack in Batangas
BATANGAS CITY Aug. 10— A columnist and his driver were wounded after being attacked by still unidentified suspect in Batangas City at around 8:30 p.m. Wednesday.
Batangas Police Provincial Director Senior Superintendent Randy Peralta identified the victims as Crisenciano “Cris” Ibon and his driver Gerry Ebreo.
Ibon is the former Batangas correspondent of a Manila-based daily and currently a columnist of the tabloid Police Files.
Peralta said the victims were watching television in a house at Barangay Kumintang when shot several times by an unidentified suspect.
Ibon was rushed to the Camillus Hospital while Ebreo was rushed to the Batangas Medical Center.
Initial medical condition report divulged that the bullet entered Ibon’s back from the right and exited to the left part of his chest while Ebreo was hit on the spine.
Police are still investigating the incident.
