ITCZ to bring rains over Mindanao, parts of Visayas Sunday
MANILA–The Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) affecting Mindanao will cause rains over the island and parts of Visayas on Sunday, state weather agency Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said Sunday.
In its 24 hour forecast, PAGASA said cloudy skies with light to moderate rains and isolated thunderstorms will be experienced over Mindanao, eastern and central Visayas, Negros Island and Palawan.
The agency also cited that the ridge of a high pressure area (HPA) is currently extending over northern and central Luzon.
Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms will prevail over Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon.
Meanwhile, light to moderate winds blowing from east to southeast will prevail over northern and Luzon, and from east to northeast over the rest of the archipelago.
The country’s coastal waters will be slight to moderate, PAGASA said.
