Cavs complete sweep of Raptors; Wizards, Rockets tie own conference semis series
MANILA–LeBron James flirted with a double-double as the Cleveland Cavaliers completed a 4-0 sweep of the Toronto Raptors with a 109-102 win in Game 4 of their NBA Eastern Conference semifinal series at the Air Canada Centre in Toronto on Monday (Philippine Time).
James fired 35 points and got nine rebounds with six assists for Cleveland, which pulled away in the final 6:15 of the game to earn the first seat in the conference finals.
Dating back to last year’s historic NBA Finals conquest, the Cavs won their last 11 playoff games.
However, they may need to wait a little longer for their opponents in the Final Four as the Boston Celtics-Washington Wizards series is now tied at two wins apiece.
Boston 102 Washington 121
In Washington, the Wizards used a 26-0 run in the third quarter to blast the Celtics, 121-102, in Game 4 of their own quarterfinal clash.
Bradley Beal dropped 29 points, while John Wall added 27 for Washington in a game where Kelly Oubre served his suspension for shoving Kelly Olynyk in Game 3.
With the Wizards sweeping their two home assignments in the East semis, their series with the Celtics is now tied, 2-all, entering Game 5 back in Boston on Thursday (Philippine Time).
San Antonio 104 Houston 125
In Houston, the Rockets tied their own West semis series with the San Antonio Spurs with a 125-104 rout.
James Harden had 28 points, five rebounds, 12 assists, and two steals for Houston, which bounced back from its Game 3 loss that gave San Antonio the homecourt edge back.
Jonathan Simmons came off the bench to lead San Antonio with 17 markers.
