Meralco to cut off power in parts of QC, Cainta Monday
MANILA–The Manila Electric Co. will cut off power in some parts of Quezon City and Cainta, Rizal on Monday from 9 a.m.- 1 p.m. due to maintenance operations.
According to an advisory from the power firm on Sunday, it will implement the power interruption in Brgy. Baesa, Quezon City and Midland Steel located in St. Anthony Subdivision, Rizal.
For Quezon City, the areas that will have brownouts include Barangays Baesa, Sangandaan and Bahay Toro, Quezon City. It covers the portion of St. Mary Street from St. Benedict to St. Vincent, Sacred Heart and St. Michael Street in Paradise Village, Barangay. Sangandaan from 9:30-10:00 a.m.
Other areas, which will have power outages from 10:30 a.m.-1 p.m., include Barangays Baesa, Sangandaan, Jersey, Sta. Gertrudes Streets. in Barangay Bahay Toro. It includes the following streets: Dividends, Real Estate, Retirement, Salary, Benefits, Loans.
Hereford Street to Dexter Street, meanwhile, will also have a power interruption from 12:30-1 p.m due to line reconstruction works.
For Cainta, meanwhile, Midland Steel located in St. Anthony Subdivision will have a brownout from 11:00 p.m.-11:59 p.m (Monday) and 5:00 a.m.-6:00 a.m. (Tuesday). It will implement the power outage due to the DPWH road widening project located along Ortigas Ave. Extension in Rizal.
On Monday, the National Grid Corp. of the Philippines forecasts the Luzon grid will have a power supply of 8,531 megawatts, while have a demand of 7,256 megawatts. It will have a reserve of 1,275 megawatts.
