LPA spotted off Mindanao; northeast monsoon to bring rains over Luzon Sunday
MANILA–A low pressure area (LPA) was spotted at 800 km east of Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur, state weather agency Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Service Administration (PAGASA) said Sunday.
Rains may prevail over Luzon as northeast monsoon affects the island, it added.
In its 24-hour forecast, PAGASA said cloudy skies with light to moderate rains and isolated thunderstorms is expected over Caraga.
Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains will prevail over Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon.
The rest of the country is expected to have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms.
Moderate to strong winds blowing from northeast to east will prevail over northern Luzon, and coming from northeast over the rest of Luzon and of eastern Visayas.
Coastal waters along these areas will be moderate to rough.
Elsewhere, winds will be light to moderate coming from northeast with slight to moderate seas, PAGASA said.
