LPA spotted off Mindanao, northeast monsoon to cause rains over Luzon
MANILA –Rains may prevail over Luzon as northeast monsoon affects the island, state weather agency Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said Sunday.
A low pressure area (LPA) was spotted at 860 km east of Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur, it added.
In its 24-hour forecast, PAGASA said cloudy skies with light to moderate rains and isolated thunderstorms is expected over Caraga, eastern Visayas and Davao.
Cloudy skies with light rains will prevail over Cagayan Valley and Aurora province.
Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains will be experienced over Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon.
The rest of the country is expected to have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms.
Moderate to strong winds blowing from northeast to east will prevail over Luzon, and its coastal waters will be moderate to rough.
Elsewhere, winds will be light to moderate coming from northeast to north with slight to moderate seas, PAGASA said.
