MANILA –Flag carrier Philippine Airlines (PAL) on Tuesday said it will start free airlifting of critical supplies and relief goods for victims of the Surigao earthquake.

PAL will fly donations to Butuan, for transport by land to Surigao City, through accredited government agencies, SEC-registered foundations, NGOs, non-profitable, charitable, civic and religious organizations.

The airline said the program, which covers airlifting of donations within the Philippines only, will fly goods on space-available basis.

It will prioritize urgently needed goods such as ready-to-eat nutritious food, water purification tablets and equipment, mats and blankets which are not readily sourced at affected areas.

Donors may also send an email to the PAL Foundation at palfoundation@pal.com.ph, indicating the following details –name and contact details of donors/organizations, recipient or consignee, contents and estimate cost of donation, weight, among others.

Donors will be given instructions on schedule of shipment, PAL said.
