Hazardous tsunami possible after 8.0 magnitude quake shakes Papua New Guinea
MOSCOW –The Pacific Tsunami Warning Center issued a notification saying hazardous tsunami waves were possible following an 8.
0 magnitude earthquake that hit off Papua New Guinea’s coast.
The center warned that after the quake “widespread hazardous tsunami waves are possible” for the upcoming three hours along the coasts of Papua New Guinea, Vanuatu, Indonesia, the Solomon Islands, Nauru, and the Federated States of Micronesia.
