Nat’l grid corp. completes power restoration in ‘Auring’-hit areas
MANILA –The National Grid Corp. of the Philippines completed Wednesday the energization of areas hit by Tropical Depression Auring, one day ahead of schedule.
According to a statement from the power grid operator, issued late Wednesday, the last two downed lines, the Placer-Madrid 69-kilovolt (kV) line and the Placer Surigao 96-kV line were energized at 7:37 p.
m.
The transmission lines, which lost power at 9:47 p.m. Sunday, provide electricity to the Surigao del Norte Electric Cooperative, Siargao Electric Cooperative and Surigao del Sur 2 Electric Cooperative.
The company said the transmission services’ normal operations are back.
The NGCP noted that it will continue to take the necessary precautions to minimize the impact of future disasters on its operations and facilities, through its Integrated Disaster Action Plan.
The power firm restored the Puerto-Damilag 34.5-kV line, which provides power to the Bukidnon Second Electric Cooperative, at 11 a.m. Monday.
