LPA to bring rains over PHL on Thursday; northeast monsoon affects Luzon
MANILA—Cloudy skies with light to moderate rains and isolated thunderstorms will be experienced over Visayas, Bicol, Caraga, northern Mindanao, Davao and Quezon on Thursday, state weather bureau Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said.
Cloudy skies with light rains is expected over Metro Manila, rest of Calabarzon, Visayas, Caraga, Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon, Ilocos, Cordillera, Cagayan Valley and central Luzon.
Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains will prevail over rest of Luzon, while partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms will be experienced over rest of Mindanao.
PAGASA weather forecaster Obet Badrina said the low pressure area (LPA) was last eyed at 795 km east of Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur.
He added that northeast monsoon is affecting Luzon.
Moderate to strong winds will blow from northeast to east over Luzon and Visayas. Coastal waters along these areas will be moderate to rough.
Elsewhere, PAGASA said light to moderate winds coming from northeast to east will prevail with slight to moderate seas.
