Vina Morales on legal battle: This is about my child’s welfare
MANILA – Singer-actress Vina Morales recently filed a motion to suspend the visitation rights of her former partner Cedric Lee to their seven-year-old daughter, Ceana, after the latter ‘forcibly detained’ the child in his home for nine days.
Morales asserted that she had no personal interests but was only thinking about the welfare of her daughter when she filed the motion, shunning libel case threats of Lee’s camp.
“Honestly, this is not about me and Cedric, e. This is about my child’s welfare. ‘Wag natin ilihis (Let’s not veer away),” she said during a press conference.
“Lahat naman tayo… kapag nine days hindi mo makausap ang nanay mo, na sanay na sanay ka na nandiyan palagi ang nanay mo… Parang naman, kung tayo nga konting problema lang medyo na-stress na tayo eh. So I’m sure she’s (Ceana) stressed,” she added.
(All of us… should we not see our mother for nine days, when you’re so used to having her around… It’s like, we get stressed over petty problems, so I’m sure she’s stressed.

The 40-year-old singer-actress also noted that Lee had no documents to support his claim on having ten-day visiting rights to his daughter.
“Ceana was handed to my family at the court last May 23,” she explained.
“He (Lee) was never issued a copy granting him visitation agreement for ten days… Walang binigay na gano’n sa kanila (Nothing of the sort was given to them) that is why they are cited in contempt of court violating the visitation agreement,” she added.
Moreover, Morales stressed that she never spoke ‘libelous’ statements nor intended to ‘damage’ the reputation of her former boyfriend.
“Wala naman akong sinisiraan dito. Wala akong balak na siraan siya. Ang sa akin lang, ang nararamdaman ko at tungkol sa anak ko,” she concluded.
