Former Quebec deputy premier Nathalie Normandeau arrested by anti corruption unit
QUEBEC—Several media reports say former Quebec deputy premier Nathalie Normandeau has been arrested by the province’s anti-corruption unit.
The former Quebec Liberal cabinet minister testified in 2014 at the Charbonneau Commission, which looked into corruption in the construction industry.
Her name also came up in previous testimony at the inquiry.
Normandeau now works for Quebec City radio station FM93, which reported this morning that she had been arrested.
There are also reports that her former chief of staff, Bruno Lortie, and former Quebec Liberal cabinet minister Marc-Yvan Cote have also been arrested.
The anti-corruption unit has scheduled a news conference for 11 a.
m. in Montreal.
