MANILA – The management of television network ABS-CBN, through its Corporate Communications department, has officially released a statement clarifying the ‘miscommunication’ that occurred between two of its Tubig at Langis stars, veteran Vivian Velez and young actress Christine Reyes.

It can be recalled that Velez earlier filed an ‘irrevocable resignation’ as the lead antagonist in the afternoon drama, admitting that she could no longer take the ‘humiliation’ and ‘disrespect’ thrown to her by a co-star who allegedly has an attitude.

One incident was when the two actresses shared a dressing room while taping scenes at a residence in Bulacan. A furious Reyes purportedly questioned the special treatment given to Velez, and ordered the production staff that the latter be vacated from the room so she can rest.

ABS-CBN, however, denied such clash and explained that what only transpired was a mere ‘miscommunication’ between the two. The network also asserted that they were liable to the incident and have already apologized to those involved.

Also clearing Reyes’ name, ABS-CBN also shunned the Kapamilya star’s supposed unbecoming behavior at work.

Below is the full statement:

(From the start of the production of Tubig at Langis in October 2015 until its airing in the previous month, everyone worked well on the set of the program. Everyone worked in accord, from the cast, crew and staff, that’s why the outcome of every episode was good. It was only last week when there occurred a misunderstanding between lead star Christine Reyes and veteran actress Vivian Velez during the taping of the soap.)

(Many have already heard Vivian’s side of the story. There is only one point regarding the incident in the dressing room that the program wants to clarify.

It’s not true that Christine wanted Vivian out of the dressing room. There only occurred a miscommunication and the production team takes responsibility over it. In truth, the staff has no problem with Christine’s work ethics and she has dealt well with all that she works with.)

(We have already apologized to Christine and Vivian regarding this. We are saddened by what happened… We have already explained our side on both actresses and hope that the issue will come to rest in a proper way. Despite the issue, our viewers can rest assured that we will continue to create meaningful and relative stories in our program Tubig at Langis.)
