Saskatchewan SPCA working with other groups on certification for rescue groups
REGINA—The Saskatchewan SPCA is leading a project to certify rescue groups.
It has begun working with animal groups, the Ministry of Agriculture, Animal Protective Services and the Saskatchewan Veterinary Medical Association to come up with guidelines.
Frances Wach, executive director of Saskatchewan SPCA, says there are more than 50 rescue groups in the province.
She says people don’t realize what is required to provide proper care for the animals.
The groups will meet in March to discuss plans and a timeline for the project.
