Mariah Carey to lend voice for ‘Lego Batman Movie’
LOS ANGELES – Singer Mariah Carey is in talks to join the voice cast of the upcoming “The Lego Batman Movie,” the spin-off of 2014’s “The Lego Movie.”
The 45-year-old star will be the voice of the mayor of Gotham City in the upcoming comedy movie, reported Aceshowbiz.
The “All I want For Christmas Is You” hitmaker was last seen on the big screen in 2013’s Lee Daniels’ “The Butler.”
Prior to this, she also collaborated with Daniels in 2009’s “Precious” based on the novel Push by sapphire.
Aside from Carey, there are Ralph Fiennes, who will voice Alfred, Rosario Dawson, lending her voice for Batgirl, Michael Cera, to voice Robin, and Zach Galifianakis, for Joker.
Will Arnett, who voiced Batman in “The Lego Movie,” will return to voice the Dark Knight.
Chris McKay, the animation supervisor of “Lego Movie,” is directing the project with a script written by Seth Grahame-Smith.
The film is scheduled to be released in the U.S. on February 10, 2017.
