Fans get chance to step inside chaos of ‘The Walking Dead’ show in new ‘immersive experience’
ATLANTA – Organizers of a convention devoted to “The Walking Dead” TV show are unveiling a new “immersive experience” at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta.
The production is set to premiere Friday at the 2015 Walker Stalker Con at the downtown convention centre.
Organizers say “The Walking Dead Experience-Chapter 1” drops small groups of audience members into more than 10,000 square feet of sets and special effects designed to emulate the fear and chaos of the AMC show.
Organizers say the production follows the show’s story lines, beginning the night the outbreak hits, when civil unrest begins to rise.
Visual artist Michael Counts, who designs theatrical productions that immerse audience members in them, created the production. After this weekend’s convention, it’s scheduled to operate Nov.
