Samson’s complaint vs INC ministers to go through due process
MANILA — Justice Secretary Leila de Lima on Wednesday said that the illegal detention and harassment filed by expelled Iglesia ni Cristo minister, Isaias Samson Jr. “will go through the regular process.”
This is despite the four-day protest rally by the religious group asking De Lima not to pursue the investigation and to stop meddling with the affairs of INC.
The protest, which caused traffic jams along Metro Manila’s main thoroughfare ended after INC leaders talked with Palace officials late Sunday night.
The INC leadership has also called for the Justice secretary’s resignation adding that she was giving “extraordinary attention” to the case filed by Samson.
In a text message to the media, De Lima said that the case “will be assigned to a prosecutor or panel of prosecutors for preliminary investigation.”
