Willie Revillame’s ‘Wowowin’ temporarily cancelled
MANILA – According to a Philippine Daily Inquirer report, Willie Revillame’s variety game show “Wowowin” was indeed cancelled with its last episode aired on Sunday.
It clarified, however, that Revillame’s supporters need not fret as the program’s cancellation was only temporary with GMA considering airing it daily instead of just weekly.
The decision came after Wowowin received good ratings recently, even better ratings than the shows it replaced. With this, GMA has been looking for a better timeslot for the variety program.
Meanwhile, Revillame’s special civic action for certiorari case with former home network ABS-CBN has been dismissed by the Court of Appeals (CA).
In 2010, the host filed a complaint over the network for terminating his contract and cancelling his previous noon time show “Wowowee.”
ABS-CBN, for its part, also filed a case against Revillame on terms of a copyright infringement with his show “Willing Willie” under TV 5. The petition, however, was denied as the show had already stopped airing and Revillame was no longer affiliated with TV 5.
