‘Mar is the one’ — LP members

MANILA — Liberal Party members believe that Interior Secretary Mar Roxas “is the one.”

President Aquino is yet to announce the candidate that he will be endorsing in next year’s elections but the members are confident that he will endorse Roxas.

In a text message to the Philippine Daily Inquirer,  Yacap Rep. Carol Jayne Lopez said that most LP members are sure that President Aquino will endorse Roxas.

“We’re sure that Mar is the one. We’re just waiting for the best date and time,” Lopez said.

Iloilo Rep. Jerry Treñas, also among Roxas allies also said that Aquino will make the announcement any day this week.

“We’re still waiting for confirmation. What I know is an announcement will be made between July 29 and July 31. We’ll probably know for sure (today),” Treñas said in the same report.

Interior Secretary Mar Roxas earlier said that he will fully embrace Aquino’s ‘Daang Matuwid’ should the President decide to endorse him.

“If he passes the ball to me, I will not only dribble it, I will dunk it for daang matuwid (straight path),” Roxas said.
