Classes suspended in all levels in QC on Monday for PNoy’s 6th SONA

MANILA — The Quezon City government has announced the suspension of classes in all levels, both in public and private schools in the city, on Monday in connection with the sixth State-of-the-Nation Address (SONA) of President Benigno S. Aquino III at the Batasang Pambansa.
Mayor Herbert M. Bautista ordered the suspension of classes to lessen traffic congestion and ensure the safety of students who maybe affected by the different rallies scheduled on that day.
The suspension was also made in connection with the recommendation of the Quezon Police District (QCPD), Division of City Schools and QC Department of Public Order and Safety.
Earlier, the Department of Education (DepEd) also announced the suspension of classes in 32 public elementary and high schools in Quezon City in anticipation of heavy traffic, particularly in areas near the House of Representatives.
