Kidnap victim escaped from captors in Sulu
MANILA — An 18-year-old woman who was kidnapped along with two other children on March, escaped from her captors in Sulu on Monday afternoon.
In a report for the Philippine Daily Inquirer, Col. Allan Arrojado, commanding officer of the Joint Task Group Sulu, identified the victim as Ledegie Tomarong.
He added that the woman was able to escape from her captors.
He said that the captors were “overwhelmed and surprised by the presence of the operating military troops in the vicinities of Barangays Kagay and Sawaki, all of Indanan town.”
Troops from the 35th Infantry Battalion hit the area where the victims were kept. The bandits “hastily abandoned their camp thus giving Tomarong an opportunity to escape from her captors.

Tomarong was one of the three kidnap victims who went missing on March 31.
One of the victims, the two-year-old Zynielle Garban, was found dead in a shore in Pitogo town in Zamboanga del Sur after the incident.
Ace Jay, the last of the remaining victims was meanwhile, still held in captivity according to authorities.
