MANILA — Police Director Ricardo Marquez, the newly named Philippine National Police chief will assume office on Thursday and will also be occupying the controversial “White House” in Camp Crame.

“Considering there is an official residence for the incumbent chief PNP, then he will stay in the White House,” Chief Superintendent Wilben Mayor, PNP spokesperson, said in a press briefing on Wednesday.

Marquez will finally begin his appointment of leading the 160,000-strong PNP on Thursday.

Mayor also said that the White House is already undergoing preparations for Marquez.

“But we are still not sure when he would occupy the White House.

The reconstruction of the said house allegedly reached P25 million.
