Asian Hospital opens multidisciplinary facility for cancer treatment

MANILA – With cancer becoming an alarming problem in the Philippines, the Asian Hospital and Medical Center will be launching a ‘one-stop shop’ for cancer therapy on July 23.
Asian Hospital’s Asian Cancer Institute (ACI), a multidisciplinary cancer facility, seeks to treat cancer with global expertise through modern services and scientific solutions.
“We are putting a solution to this problem. In ACI, we are providing the expertise of Filipinos for the first time with the finest cancer specialists organized as a team. Beyond the expertise, we will provide the kind of healing that comforts,” Asian Hospital CEO and President Andres Licaros said in a Philippine Daily Inquirer report.
In ACI, patients will be able to discuss their conditions with a team of experts readily available, rather than being referred to one doctor after another.
Aside from treatments, patients will also be comforted and encouraged by social and spiritual support groups.
“I think the people behind the institution… are the main reason why we are taking pride in sharing this,” Licaros said.
“Also, patients don’t have to go anywhere else for cancer therapy because ACI has the most advanced technology in the Philippines… innovative and evidence-based,” ACI Director Dr. Corazon Ngelangel said. “You cannot fight cancer alone.
It takes a team to win this battle.”
ACI has four integrated treatment centers: the Emmanuel Center, which conducts screening diagnosis and surgical care; Conquer C Center, which has expert oncologists; Chrys Center 1, which provides oncology services; and Chrys Center 2, which gives integrative, supportive and palliative care services.
