‘Egay’ strands 508 seagoing passengers

MANILA — Inclement weather brought by Tropical Storm “Egay” has so far stranded 508 passengers, 58 vessels and 31 motor bancas in various ports in the country.

This is as of 4 a.m. Monday, according to Coast Guard updates.

The number of stranded passengers are 231 passengers for Cebu, 110 for Tagbiliran, two for Dumaguete, 37 for Aparri, 54 for Sorsogon, 20 for Camarines Sur, 20 for Puerto Princesa, 21 for Coron and 13 for El Nido.

Vessels prevented from leaving port due to stormy weather is placed at 26 for Cebu, 13 for Tagbilran, one for Aparri, one for Sorsogon, nine for Puerto Princesa, two for Coron, one for El Nido, three for Batangas and two for Romblon.

Motor bancas immobilized are 12 for Cebu, six for Tagbilaran, 10 for Aparri, one for Masbate and two for Batangas.
