3 Koreans went missing after diving in Lapu-Lapu City

MANILA — Three Koreans went missing after diving in Punta Engaño, Lapu-Lapu City on Sunday.

The Koreans were identified by the authorities as instructor Baek Seung Kyoon, 34; Heo Seung Yung, 45; and female companion Kim Eun, 31.

PO2  Niño Mancao, desk officer of the Station 2 in Lapu-Lapu City Police Station said the three went diving at around 11 in the morning.

After they failed to return, a search and rescue operation was conducted but was called off by past 6 p.m.
Chief Inspector Conrado Manatad, police station 2 chief said the team postpones the operations due to string waves.

Because of safety issues, the team will continue its rescue operation on Monday morning.

The authorities added that they will investigate why the diving activity pushed through despite the weather.
