More domestic flights cancelled due to “Egay”

MANILA — Bad weather brought by tropical storm “Egay” prompted the cancellation of four more domestic flights on Sunday afternoon.

In an advisory, the Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA) said that among flights cancelled include Cebu Pacific flights 5J 404 (Manila-Laoag), and 5J 405 (Laoag-Manila).

Also cancelled were two PAL Express flights namely 2P 2198 (Manila-Laoag), and 2P 2199 (Laoag-Manila).

Earlier the same day, fourteen flights were cancelled for the same reason.

These include eight Cebu Pacific flights 5J 513 (Manila-San Jose), 5J 514 (San-Jose-Manila), 5J 821 (Manila-Virac), 5J 822 (Virac-Manila), 5J 504 (Manila-Tuguegarao), 5J 505 (Tuguegarao-Manila), 5J 506 (Manila-Tuguegarao), and 5J 507 (Tuguegarao-Manila).

Also cancelled were six PAL Express flights 2P 2084 (Manila-Basco), 2P 2085 (Basco-Manila), 2P 2014 (Manila-Tuguegarao), 2P 2015 (Tuguegarao-Manila), 2P 2196 (Manila-Laoag), and 2P 2197 (Laoag-Manila).

State-run weather bureau PAGASA earlier predicted that stormy weather with rough to very rough seas will prevail over Cagayan Valley, Kalinga, Apayao and Aurora. Ilocos provinces, Nueva Ecija and the rest of Cordillera will have rains with gusty winds and moderate to rough seas.

PAGASA also said that cloudy skies with thunderstorms and moderate to occasionally heavy rains which may trigger flashfloods and landslides will be experienced over Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon while light to moderate rains and thunderstorms will be experienced over Visayas and Zamboanga Peninsula.

Meanwhile, partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated thunderstorms will prevail over the rest of Mindanao. Moderate to strong winds blowing from the Southwest will prevail over the rest of the country with moderate to rough seas.
