Suspect in Richard King’s slay faces detention
MANILA — A policemen tagged in masterminding the killing of Cebu businessmen Richard King has been detained in the city police.
This is following the National Bureau of Investigation’s refusal to take him in because of the alleged lack of capability.
Supt. Leonardo Felonia, was ordered arrested in May following his alleged involvement in the murder of King.
King, who was shot dead inside his office in Bario Obrero last year, owns a hotel business in Cebu and a wellness company.
Senior Insp. Milgrace Driz, city police spokesperson said in a Philippine Daily Inquirer report that Felonia will only be detained temporarily until the court issues a ruling as to where Felonia must be detained.
Judge Emmanuel Carpio of the Regional Trial Court Branch 16 ordered Felonia’s arrest and ruled that his murder case be heared in the city.
This is despite Felonia’s earlier petition to have his case heard elsewhere because of threats to his life.
