De Lima orders NBI to probe killing of CNN cameraman
MANILA — Department of Justice (DOJ) Secretary Leila M. De Lima has ordered the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) to immediately conduct an investigation into the fatal shooting of a driver cum assistant cameraman of CNN Philippines in Imus, Cavite at dawn Thursday.
In a text message, the DOJ Secretary said that NBI Director Virgilio Mendez sent a team from the Death Investigation Unit (DIU) to investigate the killing of Jonathan Olden, more popularly known as “Jojo,” of the news team of Cable News Network of the Philippines assigned in the Judiciary beat, including the DOJ.
The motive in the killing of the 29-year-old Olden in Barangay Pinagbuklod, Imus, Cavite has not yet been established.
