Mom has to ‘loosen up’ — Ruffa
MANILA — Former beauty queen Ruffa Gutierrez said her “very protective” mother, Annabelle Rama should learn to loosen up sometimes.
Despite their reported rifts and word wars, Gutierrez said in an interview with ABS-CBN News Channel’s “Headstart” that she is still thankful for the way she and her siblings were raised.
“She is what she is, you know. And I love my mom,” she said.
Despite their heated exchange, Gutierrez said that she is sure that her mother only wants to make things better for them.
“She can be noisy at times but she’s generous. She keeps the family together, that’s for sure,” she added.
However, Gutierrez said that her mother has to learn how to let go, because they are no longer getting any younger.
“I really have to thank my mom for raising me in that way, being over protective. I’m very thankful. But mom needs to learn how to let go, I’m not 18 anymore,” she said.
“She doesn’t wanna lose us, we are getting older, we have our own lives, and now she’s planning Elvis and Alexa’s wedding,” Gutierrez added.
“So what I think mom should do is plan her own wedding,” she said noting the possibility of celebrating a 40th anniversary with Annabelle’s husband.
