MANILA — After comforting a bullied teenager, Vice Ganda’s advice segment in the noontime show, “It’s Showtime,” trends on the microblogging site Twitter on Thursday.

A 16-year-old teenager became emotional after telling Vice Ganda how she was bullied in school because of her physical appearance.

Pamela Reyes said her schoolmates call her ugly.

Responding to this, Vice Ganda said, “Kailangan tanggap mo ang kahirapan mo kasi kapag tanggap mo ang sarili mo at kahinaan mo, walang sino mang tao ang may karapatang gumamit nito laban sa iyo.”

(You have to accept your situation because if you accept yourself and your weakness, no one has the right to use it against you.)

To prove that real beauty comes from within, Vice Ganda removed her hair extension, her contact lens and her make-up.

Wala akong pakialam,” Vice Ganda said defiantly.

(This is me, Vice Ganda. I don’t have a flawless looking face for some, i have a receding hariline. Now, all of you, take photos of me, spread it on the internet, laugh at me, call me names. Say what you want to say. I don’t care.)

Maganda ako at maganda ka,” he said.

(Because even if my face is rough, my hairline is receding, I am beautiful. I don’t hide anything anymore. I’m not afraid anymore, I won’t get surprised about what you’re going to say. You’ll say my hair is ugly, I know; my skin is ugly,i know. But that is all your opinion. For me, I am beautiful. I am beautiful and you are beautiful.)
