‘Foreign object’ temporarily disrupts MRT operations, says transport exec
MANILA — Operations of the Metro Rail Transit Line 3 (MRT-3) were disrupted Monday afternoon due to a reported “foreign object” found on the train’s electricity cable.
MRT-3 General Manager Roman Buenafe said that a management staff noticed a person littering plastic at the Ortigas station which might have caused the disruption.
It was not clear what type of plastic was found. The management has yet to elaborate on the matter.
Due to the disruption in its signal system, MRT-3 operations were limited between Shaw Blvd. station in Mandaluyong City and Taft Ave. station in Pasay City.
Operations, however, resumed at around 3:30 p.m.
