MANILA – Being compared with Ariana Grande’s performance singing Whitney Houston’s “I Have Nothing” is offensive for Charice Pampengco.

Charice posted in her Instagram account how she was offended with a social media post that compared her to Ariana by putting her old pictures depicting her previously girly image with Ariana’s pictures.

“Tigilan nyo na ako with your ‘comparisons’ with other artists. Magaling ang version ni Ariana. Pinakamagaling ang version ni Whitney. Walang nakaka-angat dahil iba iba kaming mga mang-aawit. Kaya hindi maka-move on ang madlang people dahil kayo mismo ang ayaw mag-move on at irespeto ang desisyon ng isang tao.

(Stop bothering me with your comparisons (of me) with other artists. Ariana’s version was good. Whitney’s version was the best. No one’s better than the other because we’re all different singers.

The reason why the people can’t move on is because you do not want to move on and respect the decision of others.)

Charice also said that there is no point to compare her with Ariana as they both look different physically.

“I’ve had it. Una sa lahat, napakalayo ng itsura ko kay Ariana, kaya ba kailangang palitan an picture ko? Para makisabay? Malayo pa rin. Maganda si Ariana. Sobrang nakaka-offend. But I guess yun yung point niyo diba? Ma-offend ako.

(I’ve had it. First, I’m physically very much different from Ariana. Is that the reason why I should change my picture? It’s too far. Ariana’s pretty. It’s so offensive. But I guess your point is to offend me, right?

“I’m venting a little because it’s been hard to show people that I’m not as bad as what other people think but some people really try to manipulate people to dislike me more. Whoever you choose to believe, I believe in me and who I am today and I am happy with what I’ve been through, good or bad! Mabuhay tayong lahat!,” Charice added.
