MANILA  – Less than two months before their mega fight, unbeaten American fighter Floyd Mayweather Jr. praised Filipino boxing superstar Manny Pacquiao as “one of the best of this era.”

Mayweather, undefeated in 47 fights, made his comment during their press conference in Los Angeles for their May 2 fight of the century.

”May 2, the fight of the century, the best against the best. And Manny Pacquiao is one of the best of this era,” Mayweather said.

However, the American fighter still believed that he will win the highly-anticipated fight set to be held in Las Vegas.

”I know one thing about sport, and if you lose, it’s in your mind. I have always been a winner,” Mayweather said.

Pacquiao, on the other hand, kept himself humble, offering his fight for his fans and to God.

“I just want the fans to be satisfied. The fans of boxing were waiting for this for five years. We are both going to train hard and we will do our best on May 2 to make you happy,” Pacquiao said.

Pacquiao is projected to get around USD80 million while Mayweather demanded for higher share, estimated at USD100 million, of the purse.

The fight is expected to earn record high gross revenue closer to USD350 dollars.

Pacquiao, 57-5-3, is the reigning WBO welterweight title while Mayweather collected the WBC and WBA diadems enroute to his unblemished record.
