Part of building under construction in BGC collapses, 8 injured

MANILA – A portion of a building being constructed in upscale Bonifacio Global City in Taguig collapsed yesterday, injuring eight people, according to an initial report from DZMM.

Taguig Police Chief, Senior Superintedent Felix Asis said that the second floor of The Suites building – located at the corner of 5th Avenue and 28th Street – collapsed after a layer of cement had been freshly poured.

Rescue operations were promptly carried out, but it was yet unclear if it was the building’s flooring or its scaffolding area which had caved in.
