What did Pope Francis give to Palo Church?
MANILA — Despite the harsh weather, His Holiness Pope Francis pushed through with his trip to Tacloban on Saturday, January 17.
Leaving the Apostolic Nunciature in Manila early Saturday morning, the Pope arrived at Tacloban Airport roughly 8:45 AM, almost an hour earlier than scheduled.
The Pope led Holy Mass wrapped in a yellow raincoat — just like the thousands of faithfuls waiting for him — and endured the harsh weather brought by tropical storm ‘Amang.

As a gift to Palo Church in Leyte, one of the most devastated areas after Supertyphoon ‘Haiyan’ struck in 2013, the Pontiff gave them an image of Madonna del Popolo.
As of posting, the Pope is now on his way back to Manila via Philippine Airlines, after his trip was cut short due to inclement weather.
