Globe OK’s nationwide free wifi access
KALIBO, Aklan — Globe Telecom has expressed confidence on the government’s plan of a P3-billion budget for free public wifi access in 2015.
In an interview, Yolanda Crisanto, Senior Vice President for Corporate Communications of Globe Telecom, said the plan would push for an increase of Internet connectivity appreciation in the country.
The Philippine Senate has earlier announced that they are currently in the process of pushing a bill for free wifi access to hundreds of public areas next year.
“We will be cooperating in the process. We are not affected by it. Globe Telecom already considered year 2015 as an exciting year for us,” said Crisanto.
Crisanto was in Balete, Aklan on Wednesday for the groundbreaking ceremony of Project Noah’s Ark in cooperation with the Habitat for Humanity.
“We at Globe welcome the move of the government and we are thankful for their plans,” she said.
